Terms
Last updated 17 October 2026
The short version
- Use Honkboard for fun with your friends. Be nice with it.
- You're responsible for having the right to the sounds you record, add and play.
- Pro keys are for you; don't share them publicly.
- We work hard to make Honkboard reliable, but it comes as it is. Your legal rights as a consumer stay as they are.
1. Who these terms are with
These terms are an agreement between you and Farsight LT, MB, a small company in Lithuania (company code 305686524, Laisvės al. 110-29, Kaunas), which makes Honkboard ("we", "us"). By installing or using Honkboard, you agree to them. Contact: support@honkboard.com. Our privacy policy explains what data Honkboard handles.
2. Using Honkboard
You may install and use Honkboard on your own PCs for personal use. You must be 13 or older. Please don't sell, rent or redistribute Honkboard, remove its notices, get around its Pro limits, or take it apart beyond what the law allows you to.
Honkboard is our work and stays ours; these terms give you a licence to use it, not ownership. Parts of it are open-source software under their own licences, which take priority for those parts.
3. Your sounds
- Your sounds stay yours. You're responsible for having the right to record, add, play and share them, for example sound effects, your own recordings, clips you're allowed to use, or sounds with a licence that permits it.
- Don't use Honkboard to harass people, to spam, to deceive anyone, or to break the rules of the apps, games and servers you use it in. Some games and services have their own rules about audio tools; following them is up to you.
- Recording people can be restricted by law where you live. Only record what you're allowed to.
- Sounds from Freesound come with their creators' licences. Honkboard keeps the licence and credit with each sound; follow them, especially if you use a sound outside Honkboard.
4. The party board
When you share a board, the friends you let in can play its sounds into your mic and, if you allow it, send you sounds. You decide who gets in and can stop sharing at any time. Everyone in a party is responsible for what they send. We don't check or keep what passes through the relay, but we may limit or switch off the party board, or block a link, to stop abuse or keep the service running.
5. Honkboard Pro
- A Pro key unlocks Pro on the PCs of the person it was given or sold to. Don't publish it or share it beyond that. We may switch off a key that's been shared publicly; we'll tell you in the app and you can ask us for a new one.
- When you buy Pro, the store you buy from (for example Steam) handles payment, and its terms and refund rules apply alongside these. Your rights as a consumer, including any right to withdraw from the purchase, are not affected.
6. Updates and changes
Honkboard updates itself to fix bugs and add features. Features can change or be retired over time; we won't take away a Pro feature you paid for without good reason, such as a law, a security problem, or a service it depends on ending. We may switch a broken feature off remotely until it's fixed.
7. Your microphone
Honkboard adds an audio effect to the microphones you turn it on for, so your sounds play through them. You can turn it off any time. Settings → Help → "Put my microphones back as they were" and uninstalling both restore your microphones' original settings.
8. No guarantees
We make Honkboard with care and fix problems as fast as we can, but it's provided "as is": we can't promise it works with every PC, mic, app or game, or without interruption. This doesn't limit your legal rights as a consumer, including the legal guarantee that digital content matches its description and works as it should.
9. Liability
As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, lost data you could have backed up, or what other people do with Honkboard. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for intentional or grossly negligent harm, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit.
10. Ending
You can stop using Honkboard any time by uninstalling it. If you seriously break these terms, we may end your right to use Honkboard or Pro.
11. Not affiliated
Honkboard isn't made by, affiliated with or endorsed by Discord, Valve, Microsoft or any game or app it works with. Their names belong to their owners.
12. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we update this page and its date. For important changes, we'll tell you in the app before they take effect. If you don't agree with the new terms, you can stop using Honkboard.
13. Law
These terms are governed by Lithuanian law. If you're a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country, and you can bring a claim in your country's courts.
